Message from the Chairman on 16.04.26

In this day and age, we have several means at our disposal to protect our homes apart from locked doors and windows: cameras and intruder alarms abound. But what about in past times? That is the subject for this month's speaker, Janet Pennington, in her talk on Witches, Warlocks & Wellingtons...The Ritual Protection Of The Home. Our ancestors used many objects to protect themselves from harm, or to bring good luck to their homes and families. It sounds fascinating; do come along next Thursday the 23rd to find out more.

Tea and coffee in the interval are being served by members from the Drawing group this month. After tea, some members of the Real Ale Appreciation group will be doing a presentation; no samples, I'm afraid, out of deference to our hosts in the Baptist Church.

As you doubtless know, next month is our AGM. We have some committee changes to be voted in and it'll be my last appearance as your chairman. I look forward to seeing you at both these events.

I hope you're keeping well.

Best wishes,

Tim
