Business Secretary - Job Description

The Secretary should be averagely competent with technology, (mainly WORD or PAGES). Also participate in most monthly Committee meetings and the AGM where they would be expected to be present and speak.

Duties

  • Act as the reception centre for correspondence and circulate to all relevant or interested parties.
  • Act as the named contact for the Charity Commission and the Third Age Trust.
  • Keep details of Trustees up to date with the Charity Commission and Third Age Trust.
  • Complete the Annual Return to the Charity Commission with help from the Treasurer.
  • Complete the Annual Return to the Third Age Trust.
  • Purchase the CLA licence and obtain a certificate from the Trust.
  • Give admin support to the Committee and in particular the Chairman.
  • Prepare the Agenda for the monthly Committee Meeting.
  • Help the Chairman in planning the Annual General Meeting.
  • Keep records and, where necessary update, required documents.
