This is French for fun but with the serious aim of allowing all of the group members to be able to converse with some confidence when travelling in France. At present we have no permanent teacher but we get a generous amount of help with material from the leader of the other French Conversation Groups. Also at each session we have a guide who is either French or a very competent French speaker to help us, particularly with pronunciation. Our emphasis is on conversational skill although to achieve this some study of grammar is necessary. We use a text book as a basis for our sessions in order to spark off subjects of discussion. The group is supportive and patient when, as happens to us all from time to time, we are having a week when we are struggling.

Sessions are held twice a month on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month from 10am to midday.
